Neil says he is really scared for that fans would review his trashes to get to know too much about him, so he has decided to leave his trashes to his friends, so they can put them in their trash cans. '00 a German fan went to Neil's home and cut up her wrist just to make Neil get to know that she existed. She has been in love with Neil since '89 and has even up to moved to a one room flat just to get close to Neil.

I think the going through his trash is something that had already happened. He said he was taking the train somewhere once and saw a bunch of charity address labels he'd tossed out plastered all over the wall, lol. Less humorous, someone told him a friend had gone through his trash and stolen his used razor blades. (ew)

The thing about "stalkers" is there are legitimate fans who are harmless, and people who are mentally ill and possibly dangerous (many have schizophrenia or delusions and believe they know/are somehow involved with the people they stalk); it's difficult to know the difference at a glance. Some people are just annoying - I felt kind of bad for the girl who kept sending Neil balloons and got a bucket of water dumped on her for her trouble. I thought it was a sweet gesture but it obviously made him uncomfortable. Still, I think she would've either run out of money or lost interest eventually without such a harsh wake-up call, lol.

There's a famous TV host here (David Letterman) who had a very famous stalker for a while. She would actually break into his house while he was away and live there! They caught her driving his car through a toll booth (she didn't have any money) and she kept saying "but I'm Mrs. David Letterman!" She went to jail, then a mental hospital, then eventually killed herself. Wow - according to this link Dave has had two other stalkers since then! http://www.tvacres.com/fans_david.htm

Stalkers.. I did an interview with a famous radio host once and he told me he was being stalked by two women. One of them came to his house in the middle of the night with roses and she asked him to marry her several times. He was already married, so she asked him to divorce his wife! This all made him very suspicious of every woman or girl who was nice to him, even if they didn't mean to flirt or something like that. Poor guy.

"I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing!" :D

ABBA's Agnetha Fältskog has also suffered from severe stalking in the 90's, by a Dutch fan. In fact, she probably had an affair with him at some point, but wanted to stop it. The guy was obsessed though. I really feel pity for her. I can understand people who are in love with their idols and want to get close to them, but it shouldn't turn into harassment...

I'm a normal Pet Shop Boys fan. I would never dream of trying to harass them in any way. I think that people should know their limits!!!! Just because you are an artist or you or famous... you should also be able to have a normal private life....

yes, yes !

and the things all the media does around popular people are simply unbearable ! Everybody has a right for a private life ! All those stalkers must go to a mental hospital , because it's something sick with a person who is so obsessed with another one to that point ! :x
