What do you really think about this artist? I must say than he has made many good songs, but I really don't understand why he has changed his name so many times. Somewhere I have heard it might depend on that he is christened, but I don't know if it's true.

As I understand it, his actual name is Prince Rogers Nelson. He signed a record contract for a certain number of albums under that name and when he tried to get out of it they said "sorry, the next 'x' Prince albums belong to us!" He decided to change his name to something other than Prince, which was the symbol everyone knew him by for a while. Some publications went as far as developing a piece of typesetting in this symbol so they could refer to him in print, but most referred to him as "the artist formerly known as Prince." That evolved (devolved?) into "The Artist." Eventually his first record company let him out of his contract and he went back to making music as Prince.
I personally don't care for him but I'm the only person I've ever met who doesn't. Seriosuly! Everyone I have ever talked to in the world thinks he's genius. Maybe he's over my head or something.
